How do you create a visual difference between different tiers in a product line without making obvious references to quality or price? Samsung New Zealand asked Republik to do just that. They realized that people had trouble navigating their Samsung Tab range in stores, and requested that we look into creating a series of splash screens for each device to be used in point of sale and catalogues. I came up with the idea of using a combination of colour and materials - something that would make each device feel premium in it’s own way, but also distinct from the others.
